Without Noise Vibrations
Beating Your Head & Body
Quiet
Flight, LLC, under exclusive license from Cooper Tire & Rubber Company
is proud to present this electronic aircraft noise control system for the
general aviation fleet.
Aircraft
travel remains noisy, and at times, a stressful form of travel.
Despite the best efforts of modern sound absorbing materials and
headsets... the long sound wave from low frequency (propeller, engine and
exhaust) noises is not attenuated to the degree electronic attenuation can
obtain.
Thus, the
application of electronic noise control is ideally suited for the aircraft
cabin.
You know the
limitation... sound absorbing materials block out only a fraction of the
noise in an airplane cabin. Aviation headsets are typically uncomfortable, heavy, frequently cause
headaches and pinched ears.
With electronic
noise control technology,
all passengers in the cabin benefit from the noise attenuation simultaneously.
Fatigue for everyone
on board is reduced, conversation throughout the cabin is enhanced, all
ears receive protection and none of these benefits require an uncomfortable
headset.
As headsets
only protect at the opening of the ear, there is no fatigue inducing
vibration control over your body and full head areas by employing only a
headset. The Quiet
Flight method achieves these vibrational reductions at both the ear
opening and at the body.
Electronic noise cancellation specifically reduces low frequency noise below 400 Hz
(Hz stands for hertz, which refers to the number of frequency vibrations
per second). Low frequency noise is considered a perpetrator of noise fatigue
because these large, long waves literally pound against your
body. Propeller blade noise and engine vibration all fall in this
range, although high frequency wind noise does not
If you're not
familiar with active noise cancellation, it's relatively simple technology
to explain - although until now it's been incredibly costly to
implement. Active noise cancellation analyzes the individual air
pressure waves which make up a noise, identifying the distinct high
pressure "peaks" and low pressure "troughs" of each
component.
Coopers
ENVisys system utilizes a highly engineered control system to block the
noise waves by creating
and broadcasting "anti-noise" waves, which are essentially mirror
image sound waves. The result is not unlike the effect of
adding a positive number to its negative counterpart; in essence, the
peaks and valleys of the original waves are countered by those of the
anti-noise waves, significantly reducing the noise.
We're
confident you'll be impressed with what you see (and hear) with this
technology. The Quiet flight system is field-installable on virtually any aircraft from
single-engine, piston-powered craft to turbo prop airplanes.
